The collection of unidentified Duke Ellington scores is divided into periods of Duke Ellington's career,. The menu to the left (and the links below) provide descriptions of each of these periods and list the scores which I believe belong in each. I am reasonably confident in most cases that I have correctly identified the period from which each score or score fragment originates as Ellington's scores will generally provide sufficient clues. Firstly the instrumentation, assuming the score is sufficiently such as whether there are three, four or five reed instrument, or three or four trumpets, will give a clear indication originate fromthe scores compositions that are available from each period.
